Built Heritage

Gregory Archaeology undertakes a range of built heritage projects. Built heritage consultation and assessment arises in the case of existing buildings that have historical or archaeological implications, such as being Protected Structures, listed on National Inventory of Architectural Heritage, being within Architectural Conservation Areas and / or National Monuments.

All of these involve built heritage requirements commencing with assessment of the building through assessing and understanding its chronological sequence. This facilitates the design of redevelopment projects and enables the client’s architect or planning engineer to submit successful planning applications.

Gregory Archaeology has undertaken a significant number of structural assessments. These include vernacular buildings, industrial structures and historic infrastructural elements such as bridges, medieval town walls and castles.
